Biochips enable researchers to quickly screen large numbers of biological analyses for a variety of purposes, from disease diagnosis to detection of bio terrorism agents”.Typically a biochip has a surface area of not more than a fingernail.

In addition to genetic applications, the biochip is being used in Toxicological, Protein, biochemical research and rapidly detect chemical agents used in biological warfare so that defensive measures can be taken.

The structure of Biochips mainly consists of two parts Transponder and Reader or Scanner. Microarray techniques are used for the production of biosensors to enable Simultaneous multi analyse analysis of specific markers. A biosensor is an analytical device that uses a bio detector to perceive a target analyse directly, without the need for complex specimen processing





. Attachment of the target analyse to the biosensor creates a biochemical reaction, which is converted to an electrical signal by a transducer, quantified and displayed on a conventional screen. Biosensors may be classified according to their target molecules.
